Available for Adoption

These are the birds that are available for adoption. These birds have been worked with and any information is posted
in the listing on the bird. Any issues that the birds have are posted in the description area. If there is nothing
negative posted it is because there are no issues with that particular bird. We want to ensure that people make well
informed decisions so all information about the birds are posted in the description area. Please make sure you wish
to fill out an online Adoption Application.

Adoption Application Form

Please read carefully!

We require quite a bit of participation from you to make our service work!

We first require that the application form be filled in completely! If not we will not look at it. It is up to you to review
the birds available for adoption on the adoption page only. None of the other birds in any other section are available
for adopt. Once you fill out the application, send an email to me indicating which bird or birds you are interested in.
We will then open a dialogue and start talking to see if this would be a good match. As most people realize it is
difficult looking after all these birds and your help is required in maintaining contact with me so that I can assist you
through the process! I NEED YOUR HELP IN THIS! Once we determine if there is a good match we will set up visits to
meet the bird and we will do reference checks. If one bird doesn't fit, keep looking as more do come in regularly. Just
because one doesn't work out for you doesn't mean then next one or the next three won't. Keep trying!

 Picture Coming Soon Peaches
Moluccan Cockatoo
Peaches has been a member of the rescue for over 5 years.  She is now ready for a new home!  Many know Peaches from our education events.  We have recently been given permission from her owner to place her into a home.  She is an amazing cockatoo approximately 7 yrs old.  We have taught Peaches several tricks, she is very social and goes to anyone.  She is a very well natured bird and fully feathered and happy!

 Picture Coming Soon  Archie

He is approximately 9 years old.  He is a little nervous but does step up on to a stick.  We are working with Archie on the step up command. He is a good talker and very playful.
 Picture Coming Soon  Max
Goffin's Cockatoo
Max is approximately 20 yrs old.  He does not like teenage boys and will bite them so the best home for Max would be in a home without boys.  Max loves to share your dinner with you and likes to sing and dance.  He prefers to be out of his cage and can put up a fuss when he is caged.  He is used to living with a working family and used to being home alone during the day.
 Picture Coming Soon George
Orange Wing Amazon
George is a 41 yr old Orange Wing amazon although you would never know it!  Amazons live approximately 60-70 years and this man has a long life ahead of him!   He has recently started to pluck but has 99% of his feathers presently.  The plucking is new and we believe this was caused due to the illness of his  owner.  He is a good talker.  We will be spending some time with George to see which environment will be best suited to him.  He is available for adoption. Update:  George immediately stopped plucking upon his arrival and is doing very well.  He is beautifully feathered and does not bite.  He is very gentle even though at times he can be nervous.
 Picture Coming Soon  Bob
Parrotlet
Brittany is a 4 yr old Pacific Parrotlet.  He arrived plucking but is allowing his feathers to grow back in.  He is hand tame and likes to ride on my shoulder hiding in my hair.  He and Brittany arrived together but do not get along and would be best in seperatea homes.
 Picture Coming Soon  Fred
African Grey
Fred is a very small African Grey of approximately 30 yrs old.  Fred is blind in one eye and was mutilating himself. However he is now fully healed.   Fred does not know how to step up but will allow us to pick him up by the body.  Update:  Fred has stopped mutilating and is doing wonderfully.  All his scabs have healed.  He will probably never be fully feathered but he is sweet and gentle and likes to dance and kiss.  He loves to spend time with us and will make an awesome pet for someone!
