Vega is a 12 yr old african grey. He’s a wonderful talker .  He is slightly plucked on the chest.  We do believe his feathers will return. He’s been kept on a good diet and is healthy.

    3. Hello,

I saw this posting a while ago and was just wondering how Vega’s feathers were coming in and if the new diet was working good. How is his temperment? Does he step up well or prefer to be left alone?

    4. Is it possible to visit with your birds in house to get a feel for what you have?

    5. Please email me privately.

How is Vega doing now? Does he tend to bond with a particular person or is he OK with different people ?
      He sounds charming indeed.

    7. Vega has been adopted by a wonderful vet and her family. He’s doing wonderfully.

    8. Hi Nancy,

You and Brett will be happy to note that Vega (now Google) has grown all his chest feathers back! We’re not entirely certain what changed to make him allow them to grow back. Also, he has a red ring around his neck!

We did get another Amazon, this time a juvenile. But he doesn’t really interact with her at all, except to swing the net she climbs on, as if to knock her off. The nest he was building behind the sofa in the parrot room, was vacuumed up several months ago by our cleaning lady… That may have been a hormonal turning point. I’ve also been trying to get him on Harrison’s but he still prefers Tropicana. Also give him fresh fruit, veg and nuts most days but that’s not new; have done since we got him over a year ago.

But regardless, he is very happy and talking up a storm. He’s still pretty much a one person bird but he LOVES to be handled by me and is the best pet I’ve ever owned. He’ll allow others to interact with him, will talk and dance around certain people, so long as only I touch him. He still gives kisses at every opportunity!

    9. Thanks for the update Jay!!
